Steven Chu, C.P.O., owner of VPO, is an American Board of Certification (ABC) Certified Practioner in Prosthetics and Orthotics. With over 20 years of rehabilitation and patient care experience, Steven is able to utilize his broad base of knowledge and experience with each patient. VPO was started by Steven with the goal of providing his patients with the highest level of personal care and attention while offering access to the latest in prosthetic and orthotic technology. Steven’s focus is on personally attending to each patient’s individual needs.
Steven’s education includes a Bachelor's degree from CSU, Long Beach in Kinesiology-Sports Medicine along with Post Graduate Certificates in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Connecticut-Newington Children’s Hospital program. Clinical experience includes caring for patients within the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Shriner's Hospital of Philadelphia. Additionally Steven serves as a Prosthetics Board Examiner for ABC. Professional education is essential to providing the highest quality patient care.
Steven is trained and experienced in the latest Bionic Technologies offered including the OttoBock C-leg and Ossur Rheo Knee for prosthetic patients along with the latest "Intelligent" Stance Control Knee joints for patients needing an Orthosis. Pediatric expertise includes Cranial Molding helmets (plagiocephaly), Boston Bracing (scoliosis), DAFOs (CP, etc.) and Pediatric upper and lower extremity prostheses.
In his spare time Steven spends time with his wife and 2 children. Steven, an avid skier, maintains his PSIA Ski Instructor certification and has trained with local volunteer ski patrol.
